Grand Canyon was shaped and carved with help from the Colorado River and the Hermit Loop gives participants an amazing opportunity to see that influence from a broad view as well as up close. The Hermit Loops starts on the historic Bright Angel Trail and spends the first night at Havasupai Garden (formerly Indian Garden). From here participants will traverse along the Tonto Trail. As this trail contours around drainages the views of the Colorado River will leave you stunned. After a night in the stunning monument canyon named for the iconic monolith that sits in the middle of the canyon, the trip will head down to the river and camp at Granite Falls Rapid. Granite Falls is one of the largest rapids in Grand Canyon and one of only two rapids in Grand Canyon with 'falls' in the name! (The other rapid is the iconic Lava Falls!) From here the trip will hike up and over to Hermit Creek where evidence still exists of one of the earliest inner canyon tourist camps. There is also the opportunity if time allows

This beautiful hike starts on the North Rim of Grand Canyon nestled in the Ponderosa Pine trees just below Monument Point. This journey will take you through the vast strata of geology with sweeping vistas of Bridgers Knoll, the Owl Eyes, and other large promontories. It will also bring you up close and personal to some of the largest waterfalls housed in Grand Canyon. You will see the confluence of the shortest river system in the North America, Thunder River. You will also be rewarded with swaths of cottonwood groves in the bottom of the canyon by some of the richest biodiverse riparian zones in Arizona. Archeological sites dot the trail and area as a reminder of the humans adjacent to the canyon who still call this landscape home.
You will walk along the banks of the Colorado River with epic views of a metamorphic gorge that represents the lower part of the middle Granit Gorge in Grand Canyon. Native fish species, with the help of the Park Service, have been making a comeback in the various creeks an
